Is anyone out there?

Well, hey there! I'm updating my blog, can you believe it? It's been about four months since the last time I blogged. Things have just been so crazy that I barely have time to brush my hair. But I do miss my little place to write down my thoughts. So, although I won't be blogging every day, I will be here over sharing a few times a month. On to the exciting updates!

Alyssa is almost done with her third grade school year. It's been a little bit of a struggle, as she started a new school this year. I think we can call this an adjustment year and just work harder next year. She's on spring break next week and is looking forward to spending time with her Mimi and her cousins. Her birthday is still a few months away, but we've started planning a big camping party/sleepover and she is just thrilled.

Emily is almost eighteen months and she is just a bundle full of energy and personality. This girl loves to eat and would be content playing in a bucket of water for hours every day, if we would let her. She's a total water baby. I recently spotted at least two molars coming in and except for a light fever, she has been quite the trooper. My favorite thing about Emily though, is that she will babble all day long. I just know she's got a ton to say and I can't wait until she finds actual words to say it.

The surprise! I found out in December that I am expecting my third (and probably last!) baby. The kicker? I found out in February that it's another girl. It's been quite a struggle so far this year. Things have been far from easy, but that's a story for another day. Baby girl number three is due August 12th and despite the difficulties, I know she will be a blessing for everyone around her.

Lastly, I'd love to introduce you to my new venture: Emily Gold! A few months ago I ordered some headband making supplies to make my own for Emily and I accidentally got addicted. It's so fun to pick out flowers and fabrics and come up with different combinations for headbands and hair bows. (And soon bow ties for little boys!) I would so love for you to check out my Etsy shop and make a purchase or give me some feedback on something you might be looking for. You can also like Emily Gold on Facebook and follow @shopemilygold on Instagram. I'm constantly posting special deals via social media! If you'd like to make a purchase in the Etsy shop just use code NYAA40 to get 40% off of anything in the shop.

I've got a lot of catching up to do, but it's great to be back.

alyssa is turning eight

In about two weeks, my first baby will be turning eight. I just can't believe how the time has flown by. She will be a third grader in the fall and I couldn't be more proud of how smart and thoughtful she is. On times I've gone to eat lunch with Alyssa at school, I noticed she always made sure to sit with the kids that didn't have anyone sitting with them. I can't even explain how that makes this mama feel. She's also the best big sister Emily could have ever asked for. Alyssa will spend an hour running around acting goofy just to make Emily laugh. Any time I ask her to take a turn feeding her sister a bottle or throw away a diaper, she does it right away without complaint. (She does always ask if it's pee or poop - she will not touch a poop diaper!) I just love how Alyssa is so excited to be a big sister and can't wait until Emily is old enough to share toys. For now she settles on sharing her stuffed animals, which she makes talk and dance for Emily. I'm so so proud of my not so little girl and I just wanted to share a few things that I love most about her. I also wanted to share a few photos we did the other day, just because.
